Chairman, Kojima Academy Furano (NPO)
Director, Furano International Snowsports School (FISS)

Hisayuki Kojima began competitive skiing at the age of seven and pursued a racing career for sixteen years.
After retiring, he transitioned to alpine snowboarding, winning the All-Japan Championships three times.
As a member of the Japanese national team for six years, he competed in World Cups and World Championships, and was a candidate for the Nagano Olympic Games. Although he achieved the international qualifying standards, he narrowly missed selection for the Olympic team.

Following his competitive career, Kojima dedicated himself to athlete development in education. At Kamikawa High School, he founded Japan’s first official snowboarding club and introduced snowboarding into the school’s physical education curriculum. At Clark Memorial International High School, he helped nurture future Olympians, contributing greatly to the growth and recognition of the sport.

In 2002, Kojima established the Kojima Academy in Furano, providing world-class training programmes that take full advantage of the region’s natural environment. Many top athletes have since emerged from the Academy.
He also served as a coach for the Japanese national team at both the Salt Lake City and Turin Winter Olympics. In 2006, the Academy became an officially recognised NPO.

In 2011, Kojima founded the Furano International Snowsports School (FISS), focusing on providing ski and snowboard instruction to international guests and developing instructors for the global stage. Through these efforts, he continues to contribute to international talent development and the advancement of snow sports.
